Dr. Bolade Adebimpe Rebecca is a lecturer at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the School of Medicine, University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), and a specialist Obstetrician Gynaecologist. She joined UHAS in 2014.
Her professional affiliations include organizations such as the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Ghana (SOGOG), University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), and Medical Women’s Association of Ghana (MWAG).
As a pedagogic enthusiast, Dr. Ibine's passion lies in assessments and curriculum development for medical and health professions education. Her expertise in this area has led to her involvement in international collaborations and committees. Additionally, she serves as an Africa & Middle East representative for the FIGO editorial board for the renowned International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics (IJGO).
Education
Dr. Ibine earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences in 2006 and her MBChB in 2010, both from the University of Ghana. She completed her residency program at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in 2017, achieving specialization as an Obstetrician Gynecologist. Additionally, she holds a Master of Public Health degree with honors from the University of Ghana. Dr. Ibine has completed fellowship rotations in Reproductive Health/Family Planning under the Obstetrics & Gynecology faculty of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. She has also attained certification in Medical Education.
Work experience
She commenced her internship at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in 2010 for one year and completed her second-year internship at Ridge Regional Hospital in Accra in 2012. Following this, she worked as a medical officer at the Greater Accra Region Hospital, Ridge, for two years before returning to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for residency training. Since obtaining her specialist qualification in 2017, she has served as a lecturer with the School of Medicine at the University of Health and Allied Sciences.
Science/Research output
Dr. Ibine is dedicated to enhancing Women’s Health through Sexual and Reproductive Health care. Additionally, she is passionate about improving medical education in Africa, as evidenced by her research interests, publications in peer-reviewed journals, and conference presentations.
