Mr. Ibrahim Jamfaru is an assistant lecturer and an acting Head of Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the School of Medicine. He has been appointed as an Assistant lecturer in November, 2014 and has been the lead lecturer in Microbiology in the School of Medicine (SOM), Nursing and Midwifery School (SONAM). He is a microbiologist with special interest in Virology.
Education
He had his Masters of Philosophy Degree in Medical Microbiology in June 2011 from the University of Ghana Medical School and Bachelor of Science Degree (Biological) in the University of Cape Coast, in 2006.
Work Experience
He practiced as a professional teacher in Ghana Education service in the rural Ghana for almost 15years (Three years at the basic level, and twelve years at the Secondary level). He was a part time lecturer at the University of Cape Coast Distance education program.
Research Interest
- Research on viral causes of diseases, detection and molecular characterization of viruses and other neglected tropical diseases.
- Research on Cancer and Immunological markers.
